Smith & Wesson Model 25-2 “.45 Cal Model of 1955” .45acp
$1,200.00
Product Information:
Consigned is a 1980 Model 25-2 Model of 1955 that is in fantastic shape. There’s a light turn line, the bluing is beautiful, it had a target trigger and hammer and pinned barrel.
- The Barrel Markings: It is highly likely your barrel is stamped “45 CAL. MODEL OF 1955” on the side. Even though it is a Model 25-2, S&W kept the “1955” text on the barrel to honor the target configuration’s origins.
- Barrel Length: By 1980, S&W was transitioning its standard target barrel length from the traditional 6.5-inch down to a flat 6-inch barrel. You’ll want to measure from the front of the cylinder face to the muzzle to see which one you have.
- The “Pinned Barrel” Crossroads: 1980 was one of the final years S&W pinned their barrels into the frame. Check the frame right above where the barrel meets the receiver—a small transverse pin indicates an ultra-desirable “pinned” vintage piece.
